How can Dermal Fillers help Under Dark Eyes and Bags?

The Science of Dermal Fillers

The growing understanding of the anatomical conditions of the skin and, in specific, the aging face, has stimulated the spheres of aesthetic technology.

Restorative cosmetic treatments are taking advantage of enhanced and discerning biotechnology. This continues to metamorphose at a rapid speed.

The surgical rectification of skin laxity and volume was the convention in years past. There are now several non-surgical topical options available to promote.

  • Youthful and healthy skin
  • An evolving perfected cache of negligibly invasive
  • Dermal volumizers
  • Injectable, and bio-simulators, as a whole, known as dermal fillers

The growth indicators for this non-surgical cosmetology market are as startling as the science. But, rewarding use of dermal fillers is not only a vitality of the quality of “science” resulting to better bio compatibility but also the “art” of filler application, patient selection, and watchful follow up.

Even the “perfect” filler is essence to eccentric connections between both the practitioner and the patient. The safety and efficacy of the most used dermal fillers has been evident with their prominence on approved facial aesthetics techniques.

The precision of enhanced filler methods that affect tissue acceptance and response estimation of effectiveness and a comparison of wrinkle-minimization results, the characteristics and prevalence of chronic and acute tissue reaction makes the evolving dermal fillers a viable method for skin laxity correction.

Dermal fillers have offered a safe and optimal means for aesthetic soft tissue augmentation. They have gained a pronounced increase in recognition during the past decade. Much emphasis has been laid upon filler method andmaximizing client aesthetic outcomes and safety.

Proper understanding of the chemical and the physical layout of Hydraulic acid based dermal fillers may support physicians in selecting the correct Hydraulic acid (HA) dermal filler for facial skin improvements. This, collectively with proper practitioner experience and training injection, should lead to outcomes that will benefit patients.

Can You Use Skin Fillers for Wrinkles?

“Marionette lines” (from mouth area down to the chin), in medical terms is known as labio-mental rhytides. Professional cosmetologists prefer Juvederm Ultra Plus or Perlane. These fillers give considerable and long standing support to the bulky skin tissues in the marionette area. The skin here is thicker and the muscle working is very powerful. These being more supportive fillers are relevant for wrinkle reduction.

Juvederm Ultra Plus is quite exquisite in its 3-dimensional process. It is too surprising to see on how it can take off years of creases from your face! An aesthetically natural outcome can be derived by whisking the filler throughout these areas (cheek area or corners of mouth), instead of “filling” fissures and cracks.

The fine “lip lines” can be filled with thinner, finer filler. This can differ as per the skin thickness of the lip, the depth and degree of the lip wrinkles. Juvederm Ultra is ideal for the thicker skin and Evolence for the thinner skin.

More importantly, Juvederm Ultra even produce large outcome not just to “fill lip lines” but to re-shape.

  • The lips
  • Duck lips with a natural contour
  • Including the bows and cupids of the lip
  • The philtral columns and
  • The philtrum-the attractive part of the upper lip near the Cupid ’s bow area

The lower lip can also reap benefits from this filler in the center to give volume and fullness. The filler is employed almost like a “highlighter” and “makeup” or “gloss” on the lips. This making them fuller and mixed to a natural contour.

Selecting the right kind of filler for fine lip lines is essential to avoid the very prevalent, the overdone, hideous lips of many people. These were just plumped up and not treated as works of beauty enhancement.

Some people actually fear of having the lip filled with dermal fillers. It is because they particularly dread looking like a duckling, or having an “evident” lip filling result.

Additionally, the Juvederm Ultra is also helpful to make this sensitive area as pain-free as possible. We have created customized and relevant techniques to plan this practice as supportive and as smooth as possible.

What’s the Difference between Skin Fillers and Injectable Treatments versus Botox?

Skin Fillers Vs Botox

Dermal fillers

Dermal facial fillers, on the other hand, are injected to add volume and firmness to the skin. Some wrinkles on the face such as those starting from the nose to the corner of the mouth, sunken cheeks and chin area are caused by a loss of the volume in the skin over time.

Dermal facial fillers are injected into the facial skin to add

  • Volume
  • Youthfulness
  • Laxity and
  • Feathering out the wrinkles and folds

Around the mouth region, too much Botox cannot be used. Any excess usage can cause to lose the ability to eat, kiss, laugh or open mouth wide openso usually dermal fillers are more favorable here.

Dermal fillers also treat facial wrinkles. They are used to treat smile lines, frown lines. These fillers can also contribute to pump up the cheeks or lips. At times, they are also used to cut the appearance of scars and for hand treatments. Dermal fillers though are not meant for plumping and firming other areas of the body, such as the breasts or thighs.

Dermal fillers that come in different forms include:-

  • Hyaluronic acid (perlane, Restylane, Juvederm) , a temporary substance that loses its impact within 1-2 years, based on various factors.
  • Calcium hydroxylapatite based (Radiesse dermal filler), a temporary gel solution that lasts for up to 1.5 years
  • Poly-L-lactic acid (Sculptra, Sculptra Aesthetic), a man-made substance that creates its impacts for about two year
  • Collagen, a temporary substance that leaves its effects for up to four months
  • Polymethylmethacrylate beads, a prominent permanent kind of dermal filler available.

Botox on the other hand is an injectable topical medication. It relaxes facial muscles. Some wrinkles and creases on the face such as those between the spaces in 2 eyebrows are developed by facial movements.

Man Having Botox injectable Treatment

Sometimes, lines form on our face while indulging in a facial activity. And they get intense and deeper with time. Botox injections can be infused into the muscles that cause the wrinkles.

Botox is made from the bacteria which functions as a muscle relaxer. It has been ongoing in the market for over past 20 years. It has also been implemented to treat neurological problems that cause muscle weakness. A kind of Botox is also used for treating migraines and some other medical ailments.

For wrinkle-reduction treatment, Botox is predominantly used to treat effectual wrinkles. This occurs around the mouth and eyes, and also between the eyebrows. Botox is a neurotoxin which blocks the movement of nerves on muscles. They become more prominent with age.

The process of wrinkle reduction via Botoxis such that the Botox injection relaxes the muscles surrounding these wrinkles thus preventing the muscles to movesominimizing the appearance of dynamic wrinkles.

Botox is not used for fine lines triggered by collagen breakdown.

The Botox process itself takes only a few minutes with observant results within 15 days.

Choosing Between the Two

The essential elements to consider while choosing between Botox and facial fillers is to first assess what kind of wrinkles you want to get rid of and how.

Botox is a better option for dynamic wrinkles. It will decrease their visibility and motion. These kinds of wrinkles develop when the face is making expression or in motion.

Facial dermal fillers are perfect for static wrinkles. They are prominent even when your face is relaxed, not moving or making any expression. These parts are sunken and exhausted. They will be helpful from the volume that facial fillers provide them, recapturing and sustaining a youthful appearance.

Wrinkle treatment techniques are increasingly in plenty. There are abundant of over-the-counter products. People are also approaching to their beauty care providers for deep-seated and resilient options.

Botulinum toxins type A (Botox) and hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers are both wrinkle-reduction treatments. But they differ in their longevity, safety, and aesthetic outcomes on particular facial areas.

Each procedure is also delivered through an injection. However, each procedural treatment can be used for wrinkles. But there are various differences between the two to take into account prior to plunging in any of them.

Can you use skin fillers for scars?

There are several options available in derma fillers when it comes to filling in scars.

Fillers are a good way to fill in depressed scars, but they are a temporary means. Restylane filler can last up to 6-9 months, and Radiesse can last for 1-2 years.

skin fillers for scars

Bellafill is currently the only FDA approved dermal filler for acne scars. The scars should be shallow and be able to feather out when pulled manually. Other available dermal fillers can be implemented off-label. It is to treat particular types of acne scars but the effects would not be permanent.

Dermal Skin Fillers are used when scars are too deep to sensibly be treated with laser or other. Usually, a conjunction treatment personalized to a patient’s specific need is ideal for treating acne scar. There are multiple forms of acne scars as well as, blotches and blemishes that can fade along with them.

Based upon what kind of acne scars you have will evaluate which filler you need to get. Fillers like Restylane and Juvederm can last for about 1-2 year or so a little up or down.

Pros of Hyaluronic Acid Gel Fillers:

  • No pretest needed
  • If you are not satisfied with the ultimate results or correction of deformity, Hyaluronic acid gel can be removed
  • Different filler densities can be selected

Micro needling, Laser resurfacing, and chemical peels are just a few of the several treatment options available for tackling with acne scars. The suitable thing to do is to consult a board-certified cosmetologist for an in-person consultation and assessment to identify the best course of action for particular needs.

Fat can be another long lasting alternative to fill in scars. It can last for about many years like 10 years when done appropriately. One more technique to fill in the scars includes subcision method. In this a practitioner uses a needle to lift the scar upwards so that it rests in level with the rest of the skin. This can also be completed in combination with laser resurfacing.

Acne Scars

This makes it both tedious and ambiguous to choose the correct treatment.

While your health care provider or a specialized dermatologist is the best person to advice fillers for acne scars, educating yourself before seeing your doctor would make you more confident and comfortable about finding the best option.

Here is a checklist of the most used hyaluronic acid dermal fillers for treating acne scars.

Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Fillers for Acne Scars

If you seek to cut acne scars, folds, fine lines and wrinkles, hyaluronic acid may be an ideal option as dermal filler. It is completely compatible with the human body and skin anatomy.

Hyaluronic acid is certainly in for the non-surgical beauty treatments. Hyaluronic acid Fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm are definitely not only beneficial to improve the appearance of acne scars.

They also treat the damaged skin around the acne scars to make it more look appealing. Juvederm and Sculptra, both of these derma fillers are longer lasting – up to 2 years. These fillers helps to build a body’s own collagen and are more lasting solution.

Collagen based fillers can also be used to fill in depressed scars. Bellafill is a collagen based filler which is FDA approved for treating the acne scars. The filler prompts a human body to create collagen and has a 5 year indication.

But in present times there is a better option in form of Hyaluronic acid. This not only provides pleasing results but have less chance of reactions and last longer. These Hyaluronic acid fillers include juvederm, restylane, perlane etc.

Hyaluronic acid is found in the fluid around our eyes, cartilage fluids, in skin tissues and in some joint. In fact, it is present in almost every single living thing.

The skin is composed of 2 layers: the inner layer known as the dermis and the outer layer known as the epidermis. And just In between these 2, there is a layer of the gel-like fluid called Hyaluronic acid.

The main function of this acid is to maintain moisture levels in the skin while improving its tone. It also operates as a channel. This supplies essential nutrients to the skin cells from the blood stream. This gel-like layer becomes adversely destroyed by acne, resulting to scarring.

Health care professional experts have created an ideal technique to repair this layer by infusing hyaluronic acid into the scars. The hyaluronic acid used for fillers for acne scars is referred to as non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid (or NASHA) seeing that it is not derived from animal sources.

Here are the 10 things to understand before the Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Fillers for Acne Scars treatment.

  1. The Process:TThe treatment is performed in a specialist’s clinic. Usually a topical anesthetic cream is applied to numb the face. The filler is then injected into the regions of the affected skin. So that the components of the filler are able to fill its surface.

After injected, the gel functions like an aerated balloon. It is to reinforce skin tissues that have lost laxity and volume with time or because of an injury. It also adds fullness to the skin by tempting and binding water in the area of injection. And it perks up the skin texture thus fading off the acne scars.

  2. Procedure duration:A complete procedure of injecting fillers for acne scars can take up as long as 60 minutes. But in most patients it takes only between 10-30 minutes depending upon the count of acne scars to be treated.
  3. Recovery Time:In most cases, people are able to return to their normal routine just after being done with the treatment. But in case the treated area is massive, it might take a few days for full recovery.
  4. Comfort level:It depends upon person to person, in a manner how passionate you are about to get rid of your scars or how pressurized you are to keep up to the aesthetical standards of the society.

If you feel good inside then the procedure does make you feel at ease with those tiny injections of very fine needle to inject the filler under your skin.

The pain felt during the treatment is minor and can be easily soothed with ice packs and analgesics. Areas around the nose, lip and mouth could be a bit painful due to their sod and sensitive skin.

  5. Result:The results of injecting fillers for treatment of acne scars are noticeable. Your area of acne scars starts to look clearer a few days after the treatment.
  6. Downtime:The effects of the hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers for the treatment of acne scars lasts for a few months or up to 2 years varying according to patients.
  7. Price:The dermal fillers cost for the treatment of acne scars varies according to the extent of the problem, product used, location and the reputation of the surgeon. However, the minimum cost begins at a few thousands to several thousands.
  8. Side Effects:Side effects are often in the rare possible case. It may include inflammation, itching, rashes, redness and bruising at the injection site. The filler may also be visible as tiny bumps beneath the skin. However, the little bumps often compresses after a few days.
  9. Precaution:When using fillers for acne scars, be sure that you have your acnes under control. Dermal fillers are not indicated for areas of the face having acne, pain or inflammation.
  10. Effectiveness:Hyaluronic acid is a safe acne scar treatment. This offers a gentle contour to the face. The acid used for packing and filling acne scars is ecological and adaptable with the hyaluronic acid found in the skin.

In addition, the injectable type of hyaluronic acid totally breaks down inside the skin over a few months, leaving no hints of the filler or even the acne scars.

How Much Do Dermal Fillers Cost?

Cost of dermal filler is Rs. 13000-15000 for 1 ml.

We can require up-to 2 ml to 5 ml for patient, depending upon their skin condition and amount of area to be treated.

For, Bio-fillers (natural & better), our package is, 20,000 for 2 ml to 5 ml, so it is cost effective and results are great.

Dermal Fillers for Cheeks

Cheek dermal filler injections such as JUVÉDERM, JUVÉDERM VOLUMA XC, Restylane offers very natural-appearing improvement. The results remain from several months to over a year or 2, depending upon the particular filler used.

Cheeks Dermal Fillers

Cheek lifting treatment is repeatable to make sure ongoing improvement, and suitable alterations can be made with each session. With these dermal cheek fillers, the shape of the face can be converted to a younger looking ‘upside down triangle’ and can be given a more square shaped face.

Cheek lift dermal filler is a widely used method to regain lost volume. The number of dermal filler needed will differ from individual to individual, based upon the mass of loss of volume to start with, and the degree of augmentation desired.

There are also options for derma fillers to have longer lasting effect which are a little on a higher side when it comes to cost, but definitely offer better value over a long term.

With dermal fillers such as RADIESSE®, Restylane®, JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel, , JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC, no matter what the reason for sunken cheek are, pleasing improvement is possible.

How Cheek Dermal Fillers Work

Dermal fillers are produced with naturally occurring compounds. They are injected in the targeted areas under the skin using a very fine needle. Once the filler material has been infused, it plumps up the skin from the very bottom, smoothing wrinkles or enhancing facial features like cheeks.

Treatment for cheeks augmentation with dermal fillers is completely non-surgical and can be performed in a dermatologist’s clinic. During the cheek augmentation session, the filler substance can be injected in distinct ways, such as:

Slightly above the cheekbones to obtain a chiseled look

Within the soft tissue of the cheeks, “augmenting” the area to repair a sagging or sunken appearance

Cheek enhancement by dermal fillers can be done for both older and younger patients looking to fulfil their anti-ageing purposes as well as for improving cheek proportions and facial structural balance respectively.

As specifically cheek and other facial proportions may become out of proportion with increasing age, cheek augmentation for anti-ageing is possibly to have the positive impact on restoring cheek volume and facial proportions.

Regaining volume in the cheeks is one of the most crucial areas to fill when replenishing the face. With not enough cheek volume, the face can look sunken and lack the natural youthful curves offered by fuller cheeks. In addition, the mid cheek is made to support the lower eyelid.

Some normal dermal cheek filler -related reactions may occur, such as pain, swelling, discoloration, bruising, itching, and tenderness at the injection site.

An ideal cheek structure

Cheeks are known to be the most important feature for a person’s beauty enhancement and needs to have a proper shape and size. The ogee curve, is a term that is most widely used in architecture, and depicts an ‘S’ shaped curve where the peak of the cheek and the jaw line offers the ideal curvature of the cheek.

The dermal cheek fillers also help to identify the exact point of convexity point on the cheek, and make it highlight too.

Use of Dermal Fillers Under The Eyes for Dark Circles and Bags

Hyaluronic acid facial fillers for dark circles

Dermal filler for dark circle

Injectable fillers consisting hyaluronic acid are often used to repair the dark circles developed by thinning under the eye skin or loss of fat and tissue under eyes or upper cheeks.

Hyaluronic acid fillers are commonly recommended filler for correcting the dark circles and eye bags, restoring volume to the upper cheek area or tear trough. If you are experiencing the groove in between your lower eyelid and cheek filled, you can undergo a promising transformation thus relieving from the visible veins in the lower eyelid, puffy appearance.

The dark pigmentation you may have under your eyes is generally from years of chronic nasal allergy, and this is sometimes not changed with an Injectable Filler treatment alone. A person for lower eyelid rejuvenation with Injectable Fillers is also an excellent candidate.

Hyaluronic acid fillers are soaked up by the body within a few months to 1 year, so results remain up to 1 year to 2 years. The only permanent filler commonly suggested for the dark under eye area treatment is a patient’s own fat.

With dermal dark eye fillers such as Restylane®, RADIESSE® and JUVÉDERM® can minimize the appearance of dark circles and bags.

All are reputable products, but JUVÉDERM® filler is the one which is FDA approved and lasts up to maximum time in comparison to others.

Restylane as a filler product, is also fully safe (where, or by whom or how it is injected is the problem variable). It produces long term results specifically for dark circles and eye bags caused by the auto-reboot of local tissue stem cells by tissue regeneration.

This is a main reason that when multitude of procedures using Restylane is done over several years, the outcome (not the product) is likely to last longer and longer each time. You can easily find out the best filler but rather what’s more important is to find the best one for you. .

TeosyalRedensity II is also favorable filler for the tear trough/under eye area which is approved by Canada Health for this purpose. By just blending a little quantity of filler to the area, the depleted skin and emptiness in the region can be improved and it will also help to conceal the dark circles. Redensity II also has nutrients that aids in reduction of the darkness.

The results remains somewhere between 9 months to a few years depending on a patient’s skin health, ageing and injectable product used.

This filler booster is injected into the eyelid skin to hydrate and chunk up the skin and improve collagen formation.

These same skin repair filler can be injected over the entire face, neck, hands and low cut neck lines to achieve glowing, healthy skin too

In many cases, and specifically above the age of 40 years, this loss of volume in the tear trough and under eye can become more extensive in the upper/mid face, stretching further out and down the cheeks. This more usual loss of volume in the mid face is very typical of the natural ageing mechanism , and is why in some situations, people can look “exhausted”, “depressed”, “inflamed”, or “unwell”.

Restylane Dermal Filler in such cases is able to treat huge volume loss under eyes and in mid cheeks. This type of configurationally loss of volume due to ageing is very different from the typical wrinkles often linked with age factor. It is this modification in the skin that we all see but mostly do not realize.

When someone walks to us, and we immediately classify them as being 20, 30, and 40 and so on… years old, or apt or not apt for their age. This has got nothing to do with wrinkles……we cannot even notice the wrinkles unless someone is up close!

For this kind of structural ageing under the eyes, the treatment crucially comes down to more volume rejuvenation (sometimes also known as the Volumetric Face Lift).

The dermal filler for under the eyes, Tear Troughs and Dark Circles typically last for about 12-18 months, and in some cases they could even last well beyond 2 years.

The under eye area results actually somewhat tends to remain a bit much longer than dermal filler procedures on other parts of the face.

The notion behind this derivation is that in the beginning, it is likely to have something to do with there being less direct mechanical pressure breakdown on the filler, say as in comparison to around the mouth (which has possibly the smallest duration of any area), but there could be bit more to it than just mechanics.

Like, its increased longevity in this part has more to do with increased stem cell activity particular to this part, and the improved amount of fat transfer to this part.

How can Dermal Fillers help Under Dark Eyes and Bags?

The conventional approach to eye bags reduction has been to discard the fat; however, these only lead to increase in the “skeletonized” look.

The new approach with dermal filler for treatment of under eyes by RADIESSE, Restylane, and JUVÉDERM Injectable Gel is to add volume and hydration and also to restore the insulating layer with fillers. This evens out hollowness and bags and the projections that they create.

Using these dermal fillers to improve cheek profile offers extra support to the area for a better under-eye appearance.

For smoother injection treatment, you will get the innovative procedures at us. The process uses a very fine needle and we make sure to have the least incision of your arteries and veins, resulting in considerably less pain, swelling and bruising after-treatment.

Injecting a little quantity of the dermal filler substance below the eyes or along the cheek bone will allow restoring volume and eradicating puffiness from even the highly delicate under-eye area in a way that seems natural.

The type, quantity and location of the filler will be determined depending on each person’s distinct anatomy and the conditions being confronted.

Results appear instantly and will usually last somewhere up to maximum 2 years depending upon given factors. However, the treatment can be repeated to maintain delightful results.

What are the best skin fillers?

The “best filler” will depend on different factors including:

  1. Longevity for which the filler will last.
  2. The part on the face, neck, hands, decollete that needs to be filled.
  3. Your skin type (thick or thin), if you have sun damage, pimple, or acne scarring.
  4. The amount of “fill” that is needed (etched wrinkles, fine wrinkles, troughs and major volume mid-face and – cheeks).
  5. Approved Filler or a localized dermal injection

Skin fillers treatment

Apart from these factors, if there is something to be called as best fillers second to Bio-Fillers, then, Hyaluronic acid fillers are the ones that have currently emerged as the “gold standard”.

The reason being, that hyaluronic acid fillers are gentler than the other fillers, they are more easy-going (compact to feel or see bumps) in soft tissue and thinner skin.

They can remain up to 1 to 2 years in some locations. They are economical than other permanent fillers, can make a person look about 5 years younger and the best part is that can be reversed immediately or when needed with a solution of hyaluronidase.

Brands like Juvederm, Restylane, Perlane, and Bellafill have enhanced the hyaluronic acid (HA) concentrations and ‘cross linking’ which means fillers last much longer now, up to 2 years.

HA based “Fillers have become gentler, flexible and easier to mould, so it has become simpler to achieve a more natural result. But each individual tends to break HA down at non-uniform rates so the results can be varying.

The two leading hyaluronic acid players on the dermal filler market are Juvederm (by Allergan) and Restylane (by Medicis). These crucial hyaluronic acid fillers can vary in the “particle size” of the hyaluronic polymer, cross-linking of the polymers and the ultimate concentration of the hyaluronic acid in the syringe.

Juvederm has an extensive spectrum of particle sizes and Restylane has a more unvarying particle size. Both have same cross-linking and concentrations of hyaluronic acid.

The variations of these dermal fillers have higher concentration or cross-linking to accomplish better and longer lasting improvement at the cost of a thicker, less merciless product in thinner skin.

Hyaluronic acid based dermal wrinkle fillers include:

  • Juvederm XC
  • Juvederm Voluma XC
  • Juvederm Ultra XC
  • Juvederm Volbella XC
  • Restylane
  • Restylane Silk
  • Restylane Refyne
  • Restylane Defyne
  • Restylane-L
  • Restylane-Lift
  • Belotero Balance
  • Prevelle Silk
  • HylaForm

Approved Uses

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved dermal fillers made from absorbable (permanent) or temporary substances for the rectification of mild to moderate to severe facial wrinkles and skin creases, like nasolabial folds, which are the wrinkles on the sides of the mouth that stretches towards the nose often known as “marionette lines” or “smile lines”, acne scars over the age of 21 years.

The FDA has approved various absorbable dermal fillers for applications such as cheek and lip augmentation in people over the age of 21, and the rectification of contour depletion, such as acne scars, skin folds, wrinkles etc.

The FDA has approved 1 filler for hand augmentation, which elevates the mass of the back of the hands.

People may require more than 1 injection to get a pleasing filling/smoothing effect. Achieving Successful results will be based upon the condition of the skin, the expertise of the specialist, and quantity and type of filler used. The time that the effect lasts depends on the filler substance used and the part where it is injected.

The FDA has approved some dermal filler for the correction and/or restoration of the signs of facial fat loss (lipoatrophy) in people with HIV.

Ask your dermatologist for the patient labeling to find out whether the dermal filler you are considering is suitable for you. Cautiously evaluate the patient labeling for all Dermal Fillers with your specialist if you have any of these following symptoms or conditions:

  • Your skin is infected or inflamed. If you have an active inflammatory issue, (swollen, stinging, cysts, reddened, burnt, pimples, or hives) or septic, dermal filler injection should be delayed until these condition has been under controlled.
  • Any bleeding or clot in the area to be injected.
  • You have serious allergies or have a history of acute allergic reaction (anaphylaxis).
  • When you are allergic to eggs or collagen when considering dermal fillers that contain collagen or egg-extracted materials.
  • You are allergic to animal extracted substances when considering dermal fillers that consists materials from animals.
  • You are allergic to lidocaine when taking into account dermal fillers that contain lidocaine.
  • You are hypersensitive to bacteria when accounting dermal fillers that contain hyaluronic acid material extracted from bacteria fermentation.
  • You have vascular disease, joint or tendon affecting the hand when considering dermal fillers for hand augmentation.

Unlike cosmetic surgery procedures, dermal fillers remain unregulated. Sometimes, especially for the first timers, they may feel some scope of improvement in correction and restoration by Fillers, so avoid injecting anything permanent and keep up to the temporary hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers. (Hyaluronic acid is a substance that occurs naturally in our body, and breaks down over time)

The bottom line is that each of the patients must be examined first, then the specialist needs to discussed the variants of filler options available for particularly each area of concern and finally select a filler to give the best rectification for that part.

We always photograph our patient’s before and after the treatments images to follow up with the patient’s progress and create a record for the length of time each correction lasts.

It is good for the patients to return to doctor within 15 days after a treatment for a re-evaluation of the treatment area and to identify if any additional corrections are required.

Comparing Juvederm and other Skin Fillers

Click here to learn more about Bio-Fillers &it’s benefits over HA Dermal Fillers Juvederm (Allergan) are sterile gels containing cross-linked, non-animal, hyaluronic acid (HA) and are produced in a laboratory.

Hyaluronic acid HA is a form of natural sugar present in the skin. They possess no animal or human DNA and by far have the best safety profile of all the skin fillers presently in the market.

Juvederm and its version products are FDA approved for use in the nasolabial fold and are also used “off-label” in other parts of the face, neck, hands and décolleté.

Juvederm filler is smoother and causes relatively less puffiness for the first few days after a treatment as compared to Restylane (Medicis).

Each product in the JUVÉDERM® collection of skin fillers is implemented to add volume to different parts of the face – without undergoing a surgical process. All JUVÉDERM® products are a crystal-clear, smooth gel that is directed by injection in your healthcare provider’s clinic.

Different formulations of JUVÉDERM are approved to cheek or lip augmentation, smoothening parentheses lines, smoothening vertical lip lines or plump up the lips. The results are longer lasting and subtle, say up to 2 years, and create an aesthetic presence of almost a 5 year younger looking person.

JUVÉDERM VOLLURE™ XC softens mild to severe wrinkles, skin folds, and parentheses lines by adding subtle volume to the area surrounding the mouth and nose and in adults over the age of 21.

JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC adds adequate volume to the cheek area to rectify age-related volume loss in people above the age of 21.

JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC adds sufficient or subtle volume to lips and makes the lip appear soft and supple by correcting the vertical lip lines.

JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC plumps lips, adds fullness to them and also corrects and soothes moderate to severe parentheses lines in adults above the age of 21.

Perlane are still cross-linked HA but are relatively harder to feel, dense (thicker) and with a greater molecular weight. Perlane is manufactured by the same company that produces Restylane. They are ideal for injecting into parts where denser filler is required like a deeper nasolabial fold, or for adding volume in the cheeks.

There are other dermal fillers in the market being marketed to buyers but none of them have the safety profiles or the stability of results of the three fillers (JUVÉDERM, Perlane, Restylane) above. Still, there may provide benefits to some of these fillers in some circumstances.

Radiesse is calcium hydroxlapatite based filler, a constituent of cartilage and bone in a creamy, injectable form. Professes to usually last long but often appears not to be so.
