JUVÉDERM VOLLURE™ XC softens mild to severe wrinkles, skin folds, and parentheses lines by adding subtle volume to the area surrounding the mouth and nose and in adults over the age of 21.

JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC adds adequate volume to the cheek area to rectify age-related volume loss in people above the age of 21.

JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC adds sufficient or subtle volume to lips and makes the lip appear soft and supple by correcting the vertical lip lines.

JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC plumps lips, add fullness to them, and also corrects and soothes moderate to severe parentheses lines in adults above the age of 21.

Perlane has still cross-linked HA but is relatively harder to feel, dense (thicker), and with a greater molecular weight. Perlane is manufactured by the same company that produces Restylane. They are ideal for injecting into parts where the denser filler is required like a deeper nasolabial fold, or for adding volume to the cheeks.

There are other dermal fillers in the market being marketed to buyers but none of them have the safety profiles or the stability of results of the three fillers (JUVÉDERM, Perlane, Restylane) above. Still, there may provide benefits to some of these fillers in some circumstances.

Radiesse is a calcium hydroxylapatite-based filler, a constituent of cartilage and bone in a creamy, injectable form. Professes usually last long but often appear not to be so. It also tends to create complications at the injection site in form of bumps particularly, which is not present in the case of HA-based JUVEDERM.

Sculptra is poly-L-lactic acid-based which is primarily used as a volumizer and not a line filler. It is an ideal product for correcting the facial hollowing that is genetic in some families, the hollowing with HIV lipodystrophy, and for restoring volume for low body weight people.

It is particularly helpful for people who are 60 or above where the option for plastic surgery becomes riskier or almost impossible due to health reasons. It also causes bumps and is much harder to inject, so literally, a very skilled skin surgeon or dermatologist shall only perform the procedure.

Fat – This may appear to be the perfect skin filler since it is your own tissue. But it can be unforeseeable, at times lasting months and at times years. It can be uneven and bumpy. Also, Be ready for swelling and bruising for the next 15 days, and it really needs to be an experienced cosmetic surgeon to carry out the procedure (fat grafting) successfully.

Aquamid Artefill and Silicone is the permanent dermal fillers. They may appear appealing initially but complications can take place later between 3 months to even 10 years, and the problems may persist to be permanent. These complications can be mutilating and, in some circumstances, even life-spoiling. If your doctor attempts even a bit of error, you may have to survive with it for always.

Most of the other fillers at present are the imitators of- Juvederm and Restylane that do not have the same track record and just may not be as safe.

The possible cosmetic side effects of dermal fillers may be swelling that may last up to 1-3 days, particularly with injections in the lips. For those, attempting skin fillers for the first time, avoid visiting social meets for 2 days post-treatment.

After the skin filler procedure, some normal filler-related reactions may occur, such as soreness, redness, pain, discoloration, itching, swelling, and tenderness at the filling site. These typically dissolve voluntarily within 2 to 10 days.

Little bruising or a mild blush may occur at the injection site spontaneously following treatment and may end within 2-10 days.

The use of anti-inflammatory drugs or the intake of aspirin will definitely always cause bleeding or enlarged bruising at the injection site.
