Would you like to reduce the appearance of Pregnancy stretch marks? But obviously, you don’t want to opt for surgery or terrible side effects, right? Then it’s time to consider the emerging stretch marks removal procedure named carboxytherapy.

What are Pregnancy Stretch Marks?

Stretch marks, otherwise known as Striae, occur when your skin undergoes changes.

The skin is flexible. But if Pregnancy stretches more or shrinks quickly, the connective tissue surrounding the skin gets ruptured. Hence, the underlying blood vessels begin to show through, leaving behind purple, reddish brown, reddish, or pink marks, depending on your skin color. In some cases, stretch marks may be itchy and look raised. Later as the skin heals, these marks fade to a wrinkled whitish color.

Both males and females can get stretch marks at any age. But females are more prone to Pregnancy stretch marks development, especially during weight loss/gain, puberty, pregnancy, and childbirth. These stretch marks are usually permanent. They are not painful but can affect a person’s self-esteem. They are usually visible and you may feel a slight depression when you run your finger over the marks.

Though experts have tried for years to discover many alternative measures to treat these marks, nothing worked out effectively. Recently, new innovative treatment methods are emerging, among which carboxytherapy shows promising results.

What is Carboxytherapy?

As the name suggests, carboxytherapy involves the use of carbon dioxide gas. Carboxytherapy can minimize the appearance of stretch marks, help them to fade quickly, and return the skin to a more natural color.

Even if you have stretch marks on your breast, stomach, thighs, legs, buttocks, neck, face, arms, eyelids, or anywhere else, despite using stretch mark removal creams, Carboxytherapy is here to help you!

Carboxytherapy is a safe, FDA-approved, minimally invasive skin rejuvenation treatment that takes only 15-45 minutes, depending on the area to be treated.

How Does Carboxytherapy Works?

Carboxytherapy involves injecting a series of small amounts of sterile carbon dioxide (CO2) under the skin to break down fatty deposits and encourage the flow of oxygen-filled red blood cells (RBC) to improve circulation in the affected area. This cell restoration causes the formation of new collagen and thickens the skin to improve the appearance of stretch marks. During the procedure, the patient can feel slight pressure and the treated portion might become mildly red due to sudden oxygen deposition. The injected carbon dioxide will then be transferred to the lungs for exhalation during breathing. Else, after five minutes post the completion of treatment, the carbon dioxide is fully replaced with oxygen.

Depending on the desired outcome, it usually takes around 4-6 sessions of carboxytherapy, which can be conducted once in every 7-10 days. This treatment is cumulative, where every following treatment increases the result of the previous ones.

Carboxytherapy can even be combined with mesotherapy, chemical peeling, dermabrasion, or laser therapy for dramatic results.

What Makes Carboxytherapy So Special?

Several procedures such as chemical peeling, microinjection, mesotherapy, radio frequency, and ablative and non-ablative fractional laser therapy were used to treat stretch marks. But they do not remove stretch marks completely. That’s how carboxytherapy came into existence. Apart from dermis thickening and collagen fibers arrangement, a new blood vessels network is formed which helps in skin color change within the stretch marks.

You can get back to normal activities immediately after the treatment. No recovery time is advised. You may rarely experience slight redness or swelling, which may get resolved within a few minutes. But usually, there are no side effects. No pre-preparation procedure is required for this treatment. This procedure is basically painless since the scar tissue doesn’t have nerves.

Not only carboxytherapy is used to treat Pregnancy stretch marks, but it is also used to treat cellulite, dark bags under the eyes, skin lightening, and tightening.

Hence, if you want to get rid of stretch marks but don’t want to have surgery, carboxytherapy might be the one you should opt for.
